Looks pretty sharp. It’s a real shame it will be sold exclusively in China, as Acura could use every new product it could get.

...and I thought the chrome beak was bad. What a train wreck.

Looks over-styled to me, but that’s par the course these days. The headlights look very Audi - the same shape really, but with a more pronounced kick down the bottom-outside:

NOTHING is worse than the beak.

Their badge isn’t as valuable as the German badges or Lexus’. They have to stand out.

to be fair, this is a close second to the badness of the beak. I think I’m going to call this one “The Chin.”

Unfortunately Lexus are pulling the same crap.
I see what you mean about standing out, but I wish they’d do it without being ugly. The i8 is a more premium car, but it’s got the “unique but not shit” look down pat.

He may have a problem with that.

They’re just compensating for the years they’ve been called boring. And sales numbers show that people like it.
The i8 has its critics, too.

Over-compensating I’d say. People do like it, maybe that makes it okay. But I fear for the future of car design if this is what people want. I’m sure it will come full circle one day and we’ll look back at this era with disgust, like we do the malaise era.
Anything unique will, but I think it’s a much more acceptable design.

It was clearly modeled after him, he should be flattered.
